Zits are a pesky problem no person wants to have to deal with. No matter how old you are, having a zit is just quite the hassle. And they just don’t come about on your face alone! There are times when arm zits would also pop out!
But before you go on the never-ending search for the perfect zit remedy, it helps to know the cause of zits. Actually, there are a lot of causes of zits, and knowing them would really help. This is because, as in every medical condition you would encounter in your lifetime, prevention is always better than cure.
So, upon entering the Zit Zone, the most common causes of zits include heredity, hormonal changes during puberty, allergies, oily skin, monthly period, excessive sugar, poor nutrition, pollution from the environment, and poor hygiene, of course. But one very prominent cause that’s very popular in the Zit Zone is stress.
When you are stressed out, your sympathetic nervous system produces the “fight or flight” reaction. This reaction is instinctive, and refers to the reaction your body makes as to whether you would stay to deal with the problem, or you would take off and run. When such a reaction occurs, you cannot help but sweat. This is an inherent reaction. And when you do sweat, your body starts to produce oil. Now, here’s to wishful thinking that oil would clear zits fast. But this remains wishful thinking at its best. This is because oil is pretty much the main component of the Zit Zone. And when you’re stressed out, the stress hormones, namely cortisol and epinephrine, clog the oil produced by your body. And when this happens, zits are surely the next step in the process. The irony here is that when you are worrying about your zits, this would bring you more stress as well. The best thing you can do about this is to try not to get too stressed out. Incorporate relaxing activities into your schedule. Simple things, like taking a walk through the park, can help clear your mind of stressful thoughts. And with these activities, you won’t have to trouble yourself into searching for the best way to pop a zit.
But there are a lot of easy remedies for zits as well. Don’t go about popping zits just yet. This is because a zit pop can very well worsen your problem, and this just might lead to an acne breakout. This is something you would definitely want to avoid. So, just go about some zit remedies that you can try. You would just have to choose which home remedy for zits you would want to use.
The easiest thing to do would be to constantly keep your face clean. Wash your face with soap and water every possible time, especially when you feel that your face has gone oily again. Make sure that your facial cleanser is not harsh to the face because this can cause zits as well. And be sure to remove makeup every night.
Also, you can try placing toothpaste over your zits just before you go to bed. Studies show that the properties of toothpaste can help dry out your zits, and there would be lesser inclination to popping them. But be sure to do this at night, so as not to scare any of your friends and coworkers away.
Another effective way is to rub your zits with garlic once in a while. This may just be the weirdest smelling zit zapper remedy yet. But studies show that this method is indeed effective, to some extent. Just rub garlic over the zit a few times during the day, and your zit would disappear gradually.
You can also consult your dermatologist about zit acne skin care, and the different methods you can try yourself. Doing this will indeed help you get rid of your huge zit problem, and go back to enjoying healthy and beautiful skin.
