It is therefore amusing to know how the brand name had constantly changed its brand label, from Pond’s Extract to Pond’s Healing to Pond’s Vanishing Cream to Pond’s Cold Cream then to finally rest simply as Pond’s, or Pond’s Institute.

Pond’s saga began when the chemist Theron T. Pond discovered the medicinal properties of an extract of the witch hazel.
